Elon Musk Denies Rumors of Romantic Relationship with Italian PM Giorgia Meloni
  • PublishedSeptember 26, 2024

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has dismissed rumors of a romantic relationship with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni following their appearance together at an awards ceremony in New York City.

The speculation arose after the two were seen engaging in friendly interactions during the Atlantic Council’s Global Citizen Awards dinner, where Musk presented Meloni with an award.

Musk, 53, quickly took to X (formerly Twitter) to clarify the situation.

“I was there with my Mom. There is no romantic relationship whatsoever with PM Meloni,” he stated.

This response came after a viral photo showed the pair seated together and seemingly gazing at each other.

During the event, Musk praised the Italian leader, calling her “even more beautiful on the inside than she is on the outside” and lauding her as “authentic, honest, and thoughtful.” Meloni, in turn, described Musk as a “precious genius” in her acceptance speech, which focused on defending nationalism and Western values. Musk applauded her remarks, further fueling speculation about their relationship.

However, Musk firmly denied any romantic connection, emphasizing that his attendance at the event was purely professional. Meloni, Italy’s first female prime minister, recently ended a long-term relationship and has met with Musk on several occasions in the past, discussing shared interests such as the West’s declining birth rates and artificial intelligence. Despite their professional rapport, both have dismissed any rumors of a personal relationship.
