Elon Musk, a vocal supporter of former President Donald Trump, acknowledged Vice President Kamala Harris’ performance in Tuesday’s presidential debate, stating that she “exceeded most people’s expectations.”
“While I don’t think the debate hosts were fair to @realDonaldTrump, @KamalaHarris exceeded most people’s expectations tonight,” Musk wrote on X hours after the debate concluded.
Despite this praise, Musk confirmed his continued support for Trump.
The debate, the only one scheduled between the two candidates, saw Trump and Harris clash on a range of issues, including immigration, abortion, and the economy. Harris repeatedly decried Trump’s policies and leadership, labeling him a figure of “disgrace” on the world stage and among foreign leaders.
Following the debate, Republicans, including Trump himself, expressed outrage over the moderators’ actions, accusing them of bias in favor of Harris. Trump wrote on Truth Social that the debate was “three on one,” referring to the moderators’ perceived favoritism towards Harris.
According to a CNN poll, a staggerig 63% of viewers who watched the ABC News presidential debate declared Harris the winner. While only 50% of viewers predicted a Harris victory before the debate, that number jumped considerably after the event, indicating a clear shift in perception among those who tuned in.
