Former President Donald Trump’s youngest son, Barron Trump, has started his freshman year at New York University (NYU), according to his father.

Barron, 18, is enrolled in NYU’s prestigious Stern School of Business, a program known for its selectivity and top rankings among US business schools.

In a recent interview with the Daily Mail, Donald Trump confirmed his son’s enrollment, praising Barron as “a very high aptitude child” who has transitioned into adulthood. Barron’s decision to attend NYU comes after graduating from Oxbridge Academy, an exclusive private school in Palm Beach, Florida, in May.

While many members of the Trump family, including Donald Trump himself, attended the University of Pennsylvania, Barron opted for NYU.

“We liked NYU. It’s a very high-quality place. He liked it,” the former president said.

Barron had reportedly considered the Wharton School of Business at Penn but ultimately chose Stern.

Located in downtown Manhattan, the Stern campus is just a few miles from Trump Tower, where Barron spent much of his childhood. It remains unclear whether he will live on campus or commute from his family’s residence. NYU has implemented additional security measures this semester, in light of previous protests near the business school.

Barron Trump has largely stayed out of the public eye but is known to be passionate about soccer, having played for youth teams associated with D.C. United. His father noted that Barron plans to continue playing the sport at NYU.
