Krispy Kreme has unveiled a special collection of donuts in celebration of Barbie’s 65th anniversary. Currently available only in the UK, the new Barbie-themed treats have generated excitement among fans, with speculation about a potential release in the US still unconfirmed.
The collaboration features four distinct donuts inspired by the iconic Barbie brand, which was first introduced by Mattel 65 years ago. The collection includes:
- Barbie Pink Doughnut: An Original Glazed donut topped with pink frosting, sparkly pink sugar, and edible Barbie sunglasses.
- Barbie Sweet 65th Doughnut: A chocolate-dipped donut adorned with Barbie Sweet 65th sprinkles.
- Barbie Berries ‘n Kreme Doughnut: Filled with strawberry cream and topped with purple and pink buttercream, along with a Barbie heart.
- Malibu Dream Party Doughnut: An online-exclusive donut filled with cookie butter and topped with cookie crumbs and “gold nibs.”
These donuts are available in grocery stores and on delivery apps across Britain until October 6 or while supplies last.
The collaboration has sparked enthusiasm on social media, with fans praising the unique flavors and designs. “These are iconic, the filled ones sound great,” one user commented, while another remarked, “Ooooh for the girls!!” However, some fans expressed disappointment over the absence of Ken, a classic Barbie character, from the promotion. Others criticized the selection, suggesting that the donuts are too similar to Krispy Kreme’s regular offerings.
Food blogger Markie Devo speculated on Instagram that the collection might be released in the U.S. sometime this week, but The U.S. Sun has not yet confirmed any details regarding a potential U.S. launch.
In addition to the donuts, Krispy Kreme is offering limited-edition Barbie Fashionista dolls with custom Krispy Kreme accessories through a social media competition and Krispy Kreme Rewards program. Fans wearing pink on September 7 can also receive a free Original Glazed donut at participating locations.
