Ten US Troops Wounded in Helicopter Training Incident Near Fallon, Nevada
Ten US service members have sustained wounds in a training incident involving two helicopters near Naval Air Station Fallon, Nevada, on Wednesday night, CBS News reports.
The incident occurred about 40 miles east of the base. The injured have been transported to Reno for medical treatment.
Two helicopters carrying the injured personnel landed at Reno’s Pickett Park around 9:15 p.m. Navy officials reported that there were no serious injuries, while Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno confirmed the troops were receiving treatment but did not provide details on their injuries.
The training incident involved two MH-60 Sierra helicopters, according to a Navy official. Details about the cause of the incident and the condition of the helicopters are currently unavailable.
