The Fremont County School District 14 Board of Trustees will hold its regular meeting on Wednesday, February 12, at 5:30 p.m., County 10 reports.
The meeting will take place at the Chief’s Tech Center, located at 638 Blue Sky Highway in Ethete.
The meeting will include presentations from Wind River Energy Commissioner Brian Williams and Siona Astorga from the University of Wyoming High Plains American Indian Research Initiative.
Additionally, the board will recognize the district’s robotics teams for their achievements in a recent competition.
The board will review several new business items, including:
- A request from Wyoming Indian Middle School students to establish a junior high and high school cheerleading team for the 2025-2026 school year.
- Three out-of-state travel requests, including:
- The Traditional Club’s trip to the Northern Colorado Intertribal Pow-wow in April.
- Participation of two indoor track athletes and one coach in the Simplot Games in Idaho this month.
- The Wyoming Indian High School track team’s competition in South Dakota in April.
- Childhood health measures and discussions on the proposed school calendars for 2025-2026 and 2026-2027.
Following an executive session, the board will discuss:
- Revisions to the diesel tech assistant job description.
- Internal transfers and position adjustments.
- Contract offers and hiring recommendations for the 2025-2026 school year.
- Advertisements for open positions.
