Week 9 of the 2025 Wyoming high school skiing season will feature both cross-country and downhill competitions, WyoPreps.com reports.
Cross-country skiers will head to Cody for their final regular-season race before the state championships, while downhill skiers will return to Casper for the second time this season. This marks only the third occasion this season where both skiing disciplines will compete on the same weekend.
The cross-country skiing events will take place at the Cody Invite, held at Pahaska, located 44 miles west of Cody on the edge of Yellowstone National Park. On Friday, February 14, skiers will compete in a 5km classic race, with the varsity girls starting at 1 p.m., followed by the varsity boys at 1:20 p.m. On Saturday, February 15, skiers will race in a 10km freestyle race, with the varsity boys starting at 9:30 a.m., followed by the varsity girls at 9:50 a.m. Both races will feature a staggered start, with skiers beginning every 15 seconds.
Teams from Cody, Jackson, Kelly Walsh, Lander, Laramie, Natrona County, Pinedale, and Sheridan will compete in the cross-country events.
Downhill skiers will race in the Britt Farr Memorial Race at Hogadon Basin Ski Area on Casper Mountain. The slalom race will take place on Friday, February 14, starting at 10 a.m., followed by the giant slalom (GS) race on Saturday, February 15, also beginning at 10 a.m. Both races will be held on the Dreadnaught ski run.
Schools competing in the alpine events include Cody, Jackson, Kelly Walsh, Laramie, Natrona County, and Pinedale.
