The Wyoming Outdoor Hall of Fame has welcomed three new inductees for their remarkable contributions to the state’s outdoor heritage, County 10 reports.

Among the honorees is Steve Kilpatrick of Dubois, a retired Wyoming Game and Fish habitat biologist known for his lifelong dedication to wildlife conservation and habitat improvement.

Established in 2004 by Governor Dave Freudenthal, the Wyoming Outdoor Hall of Fame celebrates individuals who have made lasting contributions to the conservation and preservation of Wyoming’s natural resources. Honorees are selected for their efforts in areas such as environmental restoration, education, media, the arts, and leadership, aiming to inspire public appreciation for Wyoming’s outdoor heritage.

Steve Kilpatrick’s career with the Wyoming Game and Fish Department began in 1978, ultimately leading to his role as habitat area supervisor for the Jackson, Pinedale, and Green River regions. Over the years, Kilpatrick spearheaded numerous projects that balanced the needs of agricultural producers and wildlife, positively impacting over 530,000 acres of habitat in northwest Wyoming.

After retiring, Kilpatrick continued his conservation efforts, taking on roles with the Teton Science School, Wyoming Wildlife Federation, and Wyoming Wild Sheep Foundation. He also served on the board of the National Bighorn Sheep Center. His work has earned him several prestigious accolades, including the Craighead Wildlife Conservation Award and the Wyoming Wildlife Federation Habitat Conservationist of the Year.

Joining Kilpatrick are Doug Crowe of Casper and Jim Zumbo of Cody, whose achievements in conservation and wildlife preservation further highlight the diversity of contributions recognized by the Hall of Fame.

The induction ceremony is scheduled for March 19, 2025, at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West in Cody. Tickets for the event are now available.
