The Wyoming State Museum will wrap up its 2024 Family Day series with a special event centered on the wonders of space, the Cheyenne Post reports.
On December 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., families are invited to immerse themselves in a day of space-themed activities, meet experts, and engage in hands-on learning experiences.
Attendees can explore hidden planets throughout the museum’s galleries, craft their own asteroid, participate in a Moon Walk relay race, and launch straw rockets with the Wyoming NASA Space Grant Consortium. Additional activities include using a sun telescope from the UW Planetarium, learning about gravity from the Museum’s Curator of Education, and viewing a real NASA flight suit that was recently added to the museum’s permanent collection. Other partners in the event, including the Science Initiative Roadshow, the Cheyenne Animal Shelter, and the UW College of Engineering, will also offer interactive and educational activities.
This free event, suitable for all ages, is part of the museum’s ongoing Family Day series, which is sponsored by Scheels in Johnstown, Colorado. While the event is free, families are encouraged to register in advance to ensure that enough materials are available.
