Third Annual Mule Deer Days Set for March in Rock Springs
The Muley Fanatic Foundation and the Wyoming Game and Fish Department have announced that the third annual Mule Deer Days will take place from March 21 to March 23, 2025, at the Sweetwater County Events Complex in Rock Springs, Oil City News reports.
The event offers wildlife enthusiasts a chance to engage in mule deer conservation efforts through educational seminars, discussions with local wildlife professionals, and a vendor showcase featuring outdoor gear and equipment.
Since its inception in 2023, Mule Deer Days has raised nearly half a million dollars for mule deer conservation, with the inaugural event alone generating $472,410. Funds raised are distributed by an all-volunteer Project Allocation Committee (PAC), which is composed of local stakeholders. The committee collaborates to prioritize projects that significantly benefit mule deer populations.
Allocations from past Mule Deer Days have supported a range of initiatives, including the US 189 South Kemmerer Highway Wildlife Crossing Project, the Muley Fanatic Fellowship, the Putting the ‘U’ in Hunt Program, the Wyoming Governor’s Big Game License Coalition, the Iron Mountain Juniper Control Treatment Project, and various cheatgrass treatment efforts.
Wildlife enthusiasts are encouraged to attend the free event to learn about ongoing conservation efforts and the collaborative work being done to protect mule deer in Wyoming. The event promises to offer valuable insights and opportunities for those interested in wildlife conservation and outdoor activities.
