Wyoming Cultural Trust Fund Awards Over $330,000 to Support Local Arts and History Projects
The Wyoming Cultural Trust Fund (WCTF) has announced grants totaling $337,684.90 to support 19 cultural and artistic projects across the state, the Cheyenne Post reports.
The funding, awarded during the board’s recent review meeting, will aid a diverse array of initiatives, including historic preservation, public art conservation, film production, art education, and more.
Grants were distributed to organizations in various counties, reflecting the state’s commitment to fostering cultural enrichment. Two notable recipients include the Neltje Center for Excellence in Creativity and the Arts in Johnson County and the Cheyenne Little Theatre Players in Laramie County.
Johnson County:
- University of Wyoming Neltje Center for Excellence in Creativity and the Arts received $50,000 for the Neltje Innovation Workshop Endowment, supporting creative development in the arts.
Laramie County:
- Cheyenne Little Theatre Players were awarded $18,446.64 for essential roof repairs at the Mary Godfrey Playhouse.
- Wyoming State Museum secured $14,879.78 to assess the conservation needs of outdoor sculptures.
Other counties also benefited from WCTF funding:
- Natrona County: Visit Casper was granted $5,000 for the Casper International Film Festival, and the Natrona County Public Library Foundation received $25,000 for a new outreach vehicle.
- Teton County: Multiple grants were awarded, including $20,000 to the Central Wyoming College Foundation for the Native Voices: Honoring Indigenous Ways project, and $34,100 to the Community Center for the Arts for a theater lighting upgrade.
- Park County: The Buffalo Bill Center of the West received $18,300 for its POP! Goes the West exhibit.
Statewide initiatives also received support, including $24,500 for the Wyoming Historical Society’s WyoHistory.org: Contexts of Wyoming History project. The Wyoming Jazz Educators were granted $8,279 to fund a student jazz camp and professional development workshop in 2025.
