The University of Wyoming football program has landed a key commitment from Deion DeBlanc, a 3-star wide receiver from North Shore High School in Houston, Texas, Casper Star Tribune reports.

DeBlanc, a 5-foot-10, 180-pound prospect, is ranked as the 141st best wide receiver in the 2025 class by 247Sports’ composite rating. He chose Wyoming over offers from prominent Division I programs, including Oregon, Arizona State, Arkansas, and Houston.

Wide receiver has been a position of need for the Cowboys, with several seniors set to depart after the 2024 season. Wyoming will lose Will Pelissier, Alex Brown, and Caleb Cooley, making DeBlanc’s commitment a crucial addition. The team is currently carrying 12 wide receivers, but the departure of Devin Boddie Jr. in September left room for reinforcements.

Barring any transfer portal changes, Wyoming is set to return promising underclassmen like freshman Chris Durr Jr., redshirt freshman Justin Stevenson, sophomore Tyler King, and junior Jaylen Sargent, who have all contributed during a challenging 2024 season.

DeBlanc is Wyoming’s first wide receiver commitment for the 2025 recruiting class and the first known prospect from Texas to join the program. His pledge is part of a larger recruiting push following an official visit weekend that included a game against No. 12-ranked Boise State. Two additional players committed to the Cowboys during the visit, although their names have not yet been announced.

DeBlanc’s commitment brings Wyoming’s total to 18 recruits for the 2025 class, with the early signing period set to begin on Dec. 4. His addition highlights Wyoming’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its receiving corps as the team prepares for future seasons.
