Adele Bids Emotional Farewell to Las Vegas Residency
Singer Adele brought her hugely successful “Weekends with Adele” residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace to a close on Saturday, delivering an emotional farewell performance to a star-studded audience, CNN reports.
“It’s been wonderful and I will miss it terribly, and I will miss you terribly. The only thing I’m good at is singing. I just don’t know when I want to next come on stage but I love you,” Adele told the fans.
The residency, one of the hottest tickets on the Las Vegas Strip, marked a significant shift in Adele’s career, prioritizing family time over extensive touring. She explained her decision to choose a residency.
“I chose to do a residency so I could keep his life normal,” referring to her 11-year-old son, Angelo. She expressed her anticipation of spending more weekends with him, adding a heartfelt, “I love you to bits.”
A particularly poignant moment for Adele was Celine Dion’s attendance at one of her shows last month. Adele described the moment as a “full circle” experience, referencing the fact that her residency took place in the same venue built for Dion’s own highly successful Las Vegas run over two decades ago.
The singer previously hinted at taking an extended break after the residency, telling fans during a Munich concert series in September that she wanted to enjoy the new life she’d built over the past seven years.
“Weekends with Adele” launched in November 2022 and quickly became a highly sought-after event. Concluding her final show, Adele expressed immense pride and satisfaction.
“I am so sad that this residency is over but I am so glad that it happened. I am bursting, bursting, bursting with pride.”
