A 28-year-old Wyoming resident tragically lost their life in a single-vehicle rollover crash on Thursday evening, October 31, west of Cheyenne.

According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 6 p.m. on Happy Jack Road near milepost 5.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol’s crash summary details that Aspynn Gholson, the driver of a red Mercury sedan, was traveling westbound when the car veered across the centerline, crossed the eastbound lanes, and entered a roadside ditch. The vehicle then struck a road approach and culvert, which caused it to launch into the air. The sedan reportedly vaulted over the right-of-way fence before it hit the ground, causing the vehicle to spin and roll.

Tragically, Gholson was not wearing a seatbelt and did not survive the crash. The incident marks the 90th reported fatality on Wyoming highways this year.
