Popular podcast host Joe Rogan has officially endorsed Donald Trump for president, just hours before the election, CNN reports.

The endorsement, announced on his widely popular podcast “The Joe Rogan Experience,” was swiftly hailed as a major victory by the Trump campaign.

Rogan made the endorsement following a two-and-a-half-hour interview with Elon Musk, who has been a vocal supporter of Trump throughout the campaign.

“The great and powerful @elonmusk… If it wasn’t for him we’d be fked. He makes what I think is the most compelling case for Trump you’ll hear, and I agree with him every step of the way.”

This endorsement comes just weeks after Rogan interviewed Trump on his podcast, an interview the Trump campaign considered a major victory in their media strategy. The interview was seen as a key move to reach young men and low-propensity voters, a demographic that Rogan’s podcast attracts.

Trump, who was rallying in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, at the time of Rogan’s endorsement, enthusiastically acknowledged the support.

“It just came over the wires that Joe Rogan just endorsed me, is that great? Thank you, Joe. That’s so nice. And he doesn’t do that, he doesn’t do that stuff,” Trump said. He went on to say, “And he tends to be a little bit more liberal than some of the people in this room,” highlighting the perceived impact of Rogan’s endorsement.

This development comes after Rogan’s recent refusal to interview Vice President Kamala Harris. Rogan had previously stated he turned down an offer from Harris’ campaign due to travel requirements and a proposed shorter interview length. “My sincere wish is to just have a nice conversation and get to know her as a human being. I really hope we can make it happen,” Rogan said.

The Harris campaign has declined to comment on Rogan’s statement.
