A routine traffic stop in Johnson County, Wyoming, escalated into a major drug bust on October 25 when a state trooper discovered thousands of fentanyl pills, methamphetamine, and marijuana inside the vehicle.
The incident began in the early morning hours as a Wyoming Highway Patrol officer pulled over a vehicle on Interstate 25 for a moving violation. During the stop, the trooper’s K-9 partner signaled the presence of narcotics, prompting a further search. The trooper subsequently uncovered approximately 3,500 fentanyl pills, a significant quantity of methamphetamine, a small amount of marijuana, and about $4,500 in cash.
The driver was taken into custody and is now facing multiple charges related to drug possession and trafficking. Wyoming Highway Patrol has not yet released the individual’s identity.
