The Wyoming APEX Accelerator, in collaboration with the Small Business Administration (SBA), is set to host a workshop aimed at small business owners interested in government contracting, Wyoming News Now reports.

On Thursday, November 7, from 1 to 4 p.m., participants can attend the “In-Person Matchmaking for Government Contracting” workshop at the Laramie County Library in Cheyenne, specifically in the Cottonwood Room. Registration for the event is free and can be completed at tinyurl.com/govt-contracting-workshop.

In the previous year, the federal government allocated over $423 million in contracts within Wyoming, with approximately $61 million, or 14%, being awarded to local firms. This workshop presents a valuable opportunity for small business owners to learn how to market their products and services to local, state, and federal government agencies.

The session will feature Janean Forsyth, the program manager for the Wyoming APEX Accelerator, who will guide attendees through various resources designed to assist them in navigating the federal procurement process. The workshop will include individual meetings with representatives from federal agencies to discuss their purchasing needs and processes. Participants will also receive insights into effectively marketing their offerings and engage in a matchmaking event to help them tap into the millions spent by the federal government in Wyoming each year.

Representatives from several agencies will be present, including the Bureau of Land Management, the Federal Highway Administration, F.E. Warren Air Force Base, the General Services Administration, the National Park Service, the US Department of Agriculture, the US Forest Service, the University of Wyoming, Veterans Affairs, and the Wyoming National Guard.

Janean Forsyth brings a wealth of experience in compliance, training, human resources, and equal employment opportunity to the workshop. She is dedicated to supporting small businesses in successfully navigating the complexities of government contracting.
