Oscar-nominated actor Colin Farrell completed the Dublin Marathon on Sunday, not in the traditional sense, but in a truly heartwarming gesture, CNN reports.

Instead of running the full 26 miles solo, Farrell took on the final 4 kilometers, pushing his friend Emma Fogarty, who lives with a rare skin condition, across the finish line.

Fogarty, who was born with the most severe form of epidermolysis bullosa (EB), also known as butterfly skin, has battled the condition her entire life. She has no skin on her left foot and right arm, and even the slightest touch can cause excruciating blisters.

Farrell, who was home in Ireland for the marathon, chose to support DEBRA, an Irish charity that assists people living with EB. He and Fogarty set out to raise €400,000 for the charity, but they are well on their way to exceeding that goal, currently aiming to hit the million-euro mark.

Crowds cheered as the actor, who is currently starring in the HBO miniseries “The Penguin,” met up with Fogarty for the final stretch of the race. The pair crossed the finish line just before 1 p.m. local time, with Farrell finishing the course in 4:06.45.

Fogarty, an ambassador for DEBRA, spoke about the significance of the milestone.

Farrell, who previously launched the Colin Farrell Foundation to support families with adult children living with intellectual disabilities, said he was inspired by Fogarty’s strength and resilience.
