Jake E. Lee, renowned guitarist and former member of Ozzy Osbourne’s band, was shot and wounded multiple times in Las Vegas early Tuesday morning, The Associated Press reports.
The incident occurred around 2:40 a.m. in a neighborhood about 10 miles south of the Strip.
According to Las Vegas police, Lee was transported to a local hospital for treatment. No arrests have been made, and the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
A representative for Lee confirmed the shooting, stating that he is conscious and expected to make a full recovery.
“By the grace of God, no major organs were hit,” said Tim Heyne, manager for Lee’s current band, Red Dragon Cartel.
The representative, Amanda Cagan, revealed that the shooting occurred while Lee was walking his dog.
Lee, born in Norfolk, Virginia, and raised in San Diego, is known for his contributions to the glam metal scene of Los Angeles’ Sunset Strip in the 1980s. He remained with Osbourne until 1987, contributing to iconic albums such as “Bark at the Moon”.
Following his departure from Osbourne’s band, Lee went on to play in the metal band Badlands and released two solo albums. He most recently led Red Dragon Cartel.
