Authorities are investigating the discovery of human remains found by a construction crew south of Cheyenne on Monday morning.
The remains were located on private property near Terry Bison Ranch, close to the intersection of Terry Ranch Road and Parsley Boulevard.
The Laramie County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Coroner’s Office and Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), is working to identify the remains. Chief Deputy Aaron Veldheer of the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office stated that the remains had been at the site for a significant amount of time, complicating the recovery process.
“It appears that weather and wildlife may have scattered portions of the body, which makes the recovery a lengthy process… At this time, we are unable to determine whether the remains belong to a male or female, but they are not considered a historic or archeological find,” Veldheer said.
The Sheriff’s Office and partnering agencies are continuing their investigation to determine the identity of the individual and bring closure to the case.
