Legendary actor Al Pacino has revealed a harrowing near-death experience after contracting COVID-19 in 2020, Sky News reports.

The 84-year-old, known for his iconic roles in films like “Scarface” and “The Godfather,” described the ordeal as “strange porridge” in an interview with The New York Times.

Pacino explained that he initially felt unwell, experiencing a fever and dehydration, before his condition rapidly worsened.

“I was sitting there in my house, and I was gone. Like that. I didn’t have a pulse,” he recounted.

He vividly described the arrival of paramedics and medical personnel, who he said looked like they were “from outer space.” “It was kind of shocking to open your eyes and see that,” he said.

“Everybody was around me, and they said: ‘He’s back. He’s here’.”

Confirming that he had nearly succumbed to the virus, Pacino said, “They said my pulse was gone. It was so – you’re here, you’re not. I thought: ‘Wow, you don’t even have your memories. You have nothing. Strange porridge’.”

The actor, who welcomed his fourth child, Roman, with girlfriend Noor Alfallah last year, said his newborn son has given him a renewed purpose. “He’s added to a campaign for me to stick around a little longer, if it’s possible,” Pacino shared.
