In a stunning display of diplomatic prowess, the Trump administration has secured the release of Marc Fogel, an American teacher who had been unjustly detained in Russia since 2021, Fox News reports.

Fogel, who taught history at the Anglo-American School in Moscow, landed on US soil Tuesday, a free man thanks to the tireless efforts of President Trump and his team.

Fogel was serving a draconian 14-year sentence after being arrested in August 2021 for possession of what his family maintains was medically prescribed marijuana. Many saw the charges as politically motivated.

However, the Trump administration refused to stand idly by. Behind-the-scenes negotiations, spearheaded by President Trump himself, led to Fogel’s release.

“This is what strong leadership looks like,” said Michael Waltz, National Security Advisor. “President Trump’s unwavering commitment to bringing Americans home is unparalleled. He doesn’t back down, and he gets results.”

A jubilant Fogel was photographed disembarking the plane, wrapped in an American flag, a beaming smile on his face, and fist raised in victory.

“I am in awe of what they all did,” Fogel said, overwhelmed with emotion. “I feel like the luckiest man on Earth right now.”

When questioned about the details of the agreement, President Trump simply said:

“Not much.”
