In a thrilling game at the Arena Auditorium on January 28, 2025, Obi Agbim’s buzzer-beater three-pointer sent the game into overtime, where the Wyoming Cowboys triumphed over the Fresno State Bulldogs with an 83-72 victory.

With just 30.6 seconds left in regulation, the Cowboys found themselves trailing 61-65. After Dontaie Allen sank a contested three to tie the game, the Bulldogs responded with a foul, converting two free throws to regain a three-point lead. Wyoming called a timeout to draw up a plan, but a shot from Jordan Nesbitt failed to land. In a scramble for the ball, the Cowboys secured possession with just 7.4 seconds left. The ball found its way to Agbim, who was quiet for much of the game. He stepped up, taking a contested shot at the buzzer. The ball swished through the net, tying the game 67-67 and sending it into overtime.

The Cowboys took control in the extra period, sinking a series of three-pointers. Agbim nailed two more threes, and after a Fresno State miss, Nesbitt added another. Wyoming outscored the Bulldogs 16-5 in overtime to seal the victory.

Agbim finished the game with 17 points, five assists, and three steals, while Nesbitt, who was instrumental in regulation, contributed 10 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists. Kobe Newton also played a crucial role, adding 18 points and seven rebounds. Dontaie Allen provided 14 points, including key contributions in the second half.

Fresno State was led by Jalen Weaver, who scored 23 points and grabbed six rebounds. Brian Amuneke added 12 points, and Elijah Price posted a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.

The Cowboys, who had not won at home since a December 28 victory over Nevada, will next travel to San Diego State University on Saturday to face the Aztecs before returning to the Arena Auditorium on February 4 to take on conference-leading Utah State. Wyoming now stands at 11-10 overall and 4-6 in Mountain West Conference play.
