Technology has its pros and cons, but its ability to preserve and revive voices from the past offers a powerful advantage, Laramie Live reports.

Thanks to modern innovation, fans of the late Wyoming music legend Chris LeDoux now have the chance to enjoy a new song featuring both him and his son, Ned LeDoux.

Chris LeDoux, a Hall of Fame rodeo athlete and renowned musician, sold over six million albums and left an indelible mark on country music before his passing in 2005. His legacy has been kept alive by his son Ned, who transitioned from being the drummer in his father’s band, Western Underground, to recording and performing his own music.

In recent years, Ned has celebrated his father’s work through projects like Songs of Bareback Jack, where he revisited Chris’s albums, performed classics, and shared personal stories. Fans often wished the two could have collaborated more during Chris’s lifetime.

That wish has now been granted through the release of “One Hand In The Riggin,” a posthumous duet featuring Chris and Ned LeDoux. The song emerged from a previously recorded vocal performance by Chris, which had been stored for years in a vault. Ned recently added his own voice to complete the collaboration, blending the talents of father and son into a heartfelt tribute.

Accompanied by a music video featuring both LeDouxs, the release has struck an emotional chord with fans. The song and video showcase the enduring influence of Chris’s music while highlighting Ned’s dedication to carrying forward his family’s musical legacy.

The release of “One Hand In The Riggin” is available for streaming and download, offering fans an extraordinary glimpse into the LeDoux family’s bond and their shared love for music.
