Special Olympics Wyoming has announced the return of its popular annual fundraiser, the Jackalope Jump, inviting individuals and organizations statewide to take part in this unique event, County 17 reports.
Scheduled across multiple Wyoming cities during the first quarter of 2025, the event aims to raise funds to support more than 1,600 athletes involved in Special Olympics Wyoming programs.
Participants in the Jackalope Jump are encouraged to “#MAKEASPLASH” by plunging into icy cold water while raising money for a worthy cause. Special Olympics Wyoming welcomes athletes, schools, businesses, law enforcement, fire and military personnel, and other community organizations to join in the fun.
“The concept is simple: participants raise money to benefit Special Olympics Wyoming athletes, then face freezing cold water,” the organization said in a press release. “Each jump is its own personalized event, planned and organized locally by dedicated volunteers.”
To participate, individuals must raise a minimum of $100, earning them a commemorative Jackalope Jump T-shirt. Additional incentives are offered for higher fundraising achievements:
- $500: Handwarmer/power bank combination.
- $1,000: Wireless earbuds setup.
- $1,500: $100 Visa gift card.
Special incentives are also available for schools and first responders who meet a $50 minimum fundraising goal per person, including a Jackalope Jump camo bag.
