Three Wyoming Cowboy football players have earned recognition on the 2024 Academic All-District Football Team for Division I, as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), News Letter Journal reports.
Justin Erb, Andrew Johnson, and Will Pelissier were honored for their outstanding achievements both on the field and in the classroom.
To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must be at least sophomores academically and athletically, maintain a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher, and compete in 90% of their team’s games or start in at least 66% of those games.
Justin Erb, a tight end and special teams contributor from Wakefield, Nebraska, has a GPA of 3.67 while majoring in marketing. He appeared in 12 games, recording eight tackles, including six solo stops.
Andrew Johnson, a safety from Cheyenne, holds a 3.56 GPA in construction management. He played in 11 games, starting five, and finished the season with a career-high 30 tackles.
Will Pelissier, a wide receiver from Big Horn, boasts an impressive GPA of 3.89 while pursuing his master’s in business administration. He started 11 of 12 games this season, recording 14 receptions for 212 yards. Pelissier has also been a multiple-time honoree of the Hampshire Honor Society by the National Football Foundation.
