The Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office has announced an upcoming auction of court-forfeited vehicles, set to take place on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, KGAB AM 650 reports.
The event will offer a range of vehicles with starting bids as low as $100, providing an opportunity for the public to purchase vehicles at significantly reduced prices.
The auction will be held at the Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office, located at 50140B US Highway 191 South in Rock Springs. Gates will open at 9:30 a.m., with bidding beginning at 10 a.m.
Vehicles available for auction include:
- 2002 Mercury Sable – Starting bid: $100
- 2003 Mercedes-Benz ML 350 – Starting bid: $100
- 2004 Chevrolet Venture – Starting bid: $100
- 2017 Hyundai Accent – Starting bid: $450
According to the Sheriff’s Office, all vehicles will be sold in “as-is” condition with no warranties or guarantees. The agency clarified that it has no history on any of the vehicles, and most of them do not include keys.
The auction follows Wyoming’s legal process for abandoned property sales, which includes efforts to locate original owners and public notification via notices and newspapers.
Key auction policies include:
- Payment: Cash only.
- Pick-Up Deadline: Vehicles must be removed by the end of business on Friday, January 10.
- Right to Reject Bids: The Sheriff’s Office reserves the right to decline any or all bids.
