Donald Trump will be honored with Fox News’ “Fox Patriot of the Year” award at a private event in Long Island on Thursday, Bloomberg reports, citing the network.
The former president confirmed the news on Truth Social, his social media platform, expressing his excitement to attend.
The award ceremony will be hosted by Fox News commentator Sean Hannity, who revealed the news on his program Tuesday night. Originally, Pete Hegseth, a Fox News personality and Trump’s former nominee for Secretary of Defense, was slated to host the event. However, Hegseth’s confirmation prospects remain uncertain following allegations of sexual assault and workplace misconduct, which he denies.
Fox News’ decision to honor Trump comes amidst a surge in the network’s ratings since his election victory last month. According to Adweek, Fox News attracted nearly 10.3 million viewers on election night, the largest audience among news channels, despite a broader decline in traditional television viewership.
