Energy Share of Wyoming has begun accepting applications to assist residents facing energy-related emergencies, according to a recent announcement.
The program is designed to help individuals and families experiencing unexpected financial hardships that fall outside the scope of traditional energy assistance programs.
Energy Share is a collaborative effort among several Wyoming energy companies and is funded through contributions from both private individuals and corporate donors. During the 2023-24 heating season, the initiative raised $155,215 in donations, providing assistance to 289 households across 14 Wyoming counties. Laurie Farkas, president of the Energy Share of Wyoming board of directors, stated that the program distributed $113,603 to cover energy and propane bills for those in need.
To apply, individuals can contact their local Salvation Army or community center, which will review applications to determine eligibility. Additional information and application details can be accessed through these organizations.
