Country music fans are in for a treat as independent country star Cody Jinks is scheduled to perform at the Ford Wyoming Center on Saturday, June 28, at 7 p.m., Oil City News reports.
Accompanied by special guest Tanner Usrey, the concert promises to be a highlight of next summer’s live music lineup. Tickets for the show go on sale this Friday, according to the venue’s announcement.
Jinks, a former thrash metal musician turned outlaw country artist, has steadily built a loyal following. His breakout came in 2016 with the album I’m Not the Devil, which climbed to number four on the Billboard country charts. His latest release, Change the Game, has continued to showcase his genre-blending style, which mixes country rock, rhythm and blues, and honky-tonk influences.
Currently touring under the banner “Hippies and Cowboys,” Jinks is also preparing to release a tribute album to country legend Lefty Frizzell. Known for hits like “If You’ve Got the Money (I’ve Got the Time),” Frizzell’s legacy has inspired generations of country musicians, including Jinks.
In a statement released Monday, Jinks emphasized the inclusive spirit of his music.
“It’s a really divided time in our nation… But we’ve always been the type of band where we’ve wanted everybody. We’re just an American band—country rock, rhythm and blues, all in one. We’re hippies, we’re cowboys, and we’re everything in between,” he said.
