Governor Mark Gordon has announced that the 2025 Governor’s Prayer Breakfast will feature Justin “The Big Pygmy” Wren as the keynote speaker, Oil City News reports.

The event, which has been a Wyoming tradition for more than 70 years, will be held on February 12, 2025, at 6:30 a.m. at the Little America Hotel and Resort in Cheyenne.

Wren, a former champion Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter, has an extraordinary life story marked by resilience, struggle, and transformation. Bullied as a child, he channeled his pain into becoming a top-tier athlete. However, the physical toll of the sport led to battles with addiction, depression, and even a suicide attempt. A pivotal experience living among the Pygmy people in the Congo’s rainforest helped Wren discover a deeper purpose in humanitarian work, focusing on supporting marginalized communities.

Governor Gordon expressed his enthusiasm for the event, saying:

“Jennie and I are grateful for the continued support Wyomingites have shown for the prayer breakfast. We are eager to host the 2025 event and join attendees in drawing inspiration from Justin’s experiences.”

Individual tickets for the Prayer Breakfast are available for purchase starting December 1 through the event’s official website. Tickets are priced at $50 each and will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Governor’s Prayer Breakfast is modeled after the National Prayer Breakfast, held annually in Washington, D.C., since 1953. It is a nondenominational and nonpartisan event, organized by the Governor and the Wyoming Governor’s Residence Foundation.

For more information or to purchase tickets, attendees can visit the Governor’s Prayer Breakfast website.
