A multi-agency investigation is underway on Musser Road in rural Park County following the discovery of homemade explosive devices and potentially illegally possessed firearms and firearm equipment at a residence, NonStop Local Billings  reports.

The operation involves several law enforcement entities, including the Cody Police Department, Park County Sheriff’s Office, Regional Bomb Team, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF).

Authorities executed multiple search warrants as part of the investigation, aiming to ensure public safety while gathering evidence. Despite the serious nature of the situation, law enforcement has emphasized that there is no immediate threat to the community.

“We want to assure the public that the area is secure and being handled with the utmost care… However, we ask that residents and members of the public avoid the area to allow law enforcement personnel to work safely and efficiently,” officials stated.

Details about the origin of the devices, the identity of individuals involved, and the scope of potential charges have not yet been released. Officials indicated that updates will be provided as the investigation develops.

Residents are urged to stay informed through official channels and to respect all law enforcement instructions while the operation continues.
