A tragic two-vehicle collision on Wyoming Highway 789 near Riverton left one person dead and four others injured on the evening of November 7, Oil City News reports.
The crash occurred just after 5:10 p.m. when a Buick, traveling northbound near mile marker 113, began to slow down in preparation for a turn into a driveway. A Chevrolet, also heading north, failed to notice the slowing Buick and struck it from behind. The force of the collision caused both vehicles to become stuck and sent them off the road, according to the Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP).
The crash resulted in the death of 39-year-old Sarah Adams, a Wyoming resident. Four other individuals in the two vehicles sustained injuries and were transported to nearby medical facilities for treatment. Their conditions have not been disclosed at this time.
The WHP is continuing its investigation into the incident, but the crash serves as a somber reminder of the dangers of road traffic, especially as drivers approach slower-moving vehicles. Authorities have not yet released further details regarding the cause of the crash or whether any charges will be filed.
The identity of those injured has not been made public, and updates on their conditions are expected to follow as more information becomes available.
