Sprouts Farmers Market, a popular specialty grocery chain, is set to open its first Wyoming location in Cheyenne on November 22, marking the company’s expansion into its 24th US state.

The new store, located at 5214 Rue Terre, is part of Sprouts’ broader growth strategy, adding Wyoming to the list of markets it serves nationwide.

The grand opening celebration will kick off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 6:45 a.m., followed by the store’s official opening to customers at 7 a.m. Cheyenne Mayor Patrick Collins praised the addition, noting that the store will create approximately 100 local jobs, contributing positively to the area’s economy.

“Access to fresh, healthy food is a vital component of any community’s quality of life,” Mayor Collins stated.

The grand opening weekend will feature various promotions and activities, including a chance for shoppers to win a $500 Sprouts gift card through November 24. In addition, customers who text “CHEY” to 777-688 will receive a 20% discount for use over the opening weekend. Sprouts also plans to distribute reusable goodie bags filled with samples to the first 100 customers on Friday and Saturday. The festivities will extend to a “pop-up party” where visitors can sample fresh seasonal produce and enjoy additional giveaways and live music.

Sprouts is also emphasizing local connections at the new Wyoming store, partnering with regional suppliers such as Gotham Green, Disanti Farms, Hazel Dell Mushrooms, and Fagerberg Family Orchards. Through the company’s Food Rescue program, groceries that can no longer be sold but are still nutritious will be donated to Food Bank of the Rockies to support individuals facing food insecurity in the region.

Sprouts’ expansion into Wyoming follows a significant year of growth, with plans to open 33 new stores in 2023 alone. This marks the first time in over two years that the company has entered a new state. The company’s growth strategy has included both expansion in existing states like California and Texas, as well as moves into new markets on the East Coast.

The new Cheyenne store is part of a series of planned openings, with additional Sprouts locations set to open later in November and December in California and Texas.

The Cheyenne store will operate daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
