With absentee voting underway, Wyoming’s 2024 General Election has already seen a substantial increase in voter turnout compared to previous years.

By October 28, more than 76,000 Wyoming voters had cast absentee ballots either by mail or in person—representing over 30% of the state’s registered voters. Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray emphasized the importance of this robust participation, noting that turnout rates are exceeding those of the 2022 General Election.

“Turnout continues to outpace the 2022 General Election across the Cowboy State as eligible Wyoming voters exercise their right to vote,” Gray said.

He reaffirmed the state’s commitment to transparent election administration.

In Laramie County, turnout has been especially high, with more than half of registered voters already participating. According to County Clerk Debra Lee, 14,373 of the county’s 39,373 registered voters have submitted their ballots as of Wednesday, including 5,156 absentee ballots since the start of the absentee voting period on October 8. Lee advised voters who still need to return absentee ballots to use the county’s 24/7 drop box to ensure ballots are received by the deadline.

Voters can drop their ballots at the secure drop box located near the Laramie County Governmental Complex on Carey Avenue. All absentee ballots must be submitted by 7 p.m. on November 5 to be counted. Voters also have until November 4 to vote early in person at the Laramie County Governmental Complex, open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

For those voting in person on Election Day, November 5, polling stations will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Registered voters in Laramie County may choose from multiple locations, including:

  • David Romero Park, 1317 Parsley Blvd.
  • Storey Gym, 2811 House Ave.
  • Kiwanis Community House, 4603 Lions Park Drive
  • North Christian Church, 2015 Tranquility Road
  • Laramie County Community College, Center for Conferences & Institutes, 1400 E. College Drive
  • Event Center at Archer, 3801 Archer Parkway
  • Pine Bluffs Community Center, 708 Lawson St.
