This week, the Casper Historic Preservation Commission (CHPC) unveiled its annual Christmas ornament, showcasing the iconic mid-century Wyoming National Bank building and its distinctive clock tower.
Only 500 ornaments have been produced, each uniquely numbered, and they will be available for $20 each at the Fort Caspar Museum beginning Friday, November 1.
The CHPC selected the Wyoming National Bank building through a public vote on its Facebook page, marking the second release in a planned series of ornaments celebrating Casper’s historic landmarks. Last year’s ornament honored the Natrona County High School building.
Built in 1964, the Wyoming National Bank was designed by acclaimed modernist architect Charles Deaton, known for his influential style. The building has changed hands several times and is now known as The M Building, following extensive restoration by its current owners, Diane and Joseph McGinley, who repurposed the space for business and events.
