San Francisco 49ers star Nick Bosa injected a dose of politics into the team’s post-game celebrations, crashing his teammates’ interview with a hat emblazoned with former President Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again” slogan, CNN reports.

Following the 49ers’ 30-24 victory over the Dallas Cowboys, Bosa jogged into the interview, interrupting NBC’s Melissa Stark’s conversation with Brock Purdy, George Kittle, and Isaac Guerendo. He pointed to the message on his hat before quickly jogging away.

“All right, Nick Bosa with a message there,” Stark said as Bosa disappeared from camera.

When questioned by reporters afterward, Bosa, wearing a different hat, declined to elaborate on the gesture.

“I’m not going to talk too much about it, but I think that it’s an important time,” the four-time Pro Bowler said.

The presidential election between Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris is scheduled for November 5, just over a week after the 49ers’ game.

Bosa’s support for Trump is not a surprise. The two have a history dating back to Bosa’s time at Ohio State, where he faced criticism for old tweets supporting Trump and criticizing former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who started the movement of NFL players kneeling during the national anthem to protest police brutality and racism. Bosa later apologized for the remark.

Trump, in turn, has openly supported Bosa. Upon the defensive end’s draft into the NFL, Trump offered his support, further cementing the connection between the two.
