The Wyoming Veterans Commission recently announced Bobby Werner of Basin as its newest commissioner, representing Judicial District 5, Oil City News reports.

Alongside Werner’s appointment, the commission also confirmed the reappointments of three other commissioners: Rosemarie Harding of Cheyenne for Judicial District 1, Jack Tarter of Buffalo for Judicial District 4, and Lyle Wadda of Fort Washakie for Judicial District 9.

“These commissioners will serve to strengthen and advance the mission of the Wyoming Veterans Commission by developing and enhancing programs, services, and benefits for Wyoming veterans and their families… Their role is vital to ensuring our veterans and their families thrive,” stated Wyoming Veterans Commission Director Tim Sheppard.

The Wyoming Veterans Commission, established in 1981 with an initial focus on the Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery in Evansville, has grown into a robust advocacy organization. With 12 governor-appointed commissioners representing Wyoming’s judicial districts, the commission collaborates with the Wyoming Military Department, state government, the US Department of Veterans Affairs, and various Veterans Service Organizations. Together, they work to improve the quality of life for veterans across the state, developing programs and resources to support Wyoming’s veteran community.
