Despite both campaigns making significant efforts to engage with voters through podcast appearances, a new poll suggests these efforts may be failing to resonate with the public, USA Today reports.

An exclusive USA TODAY/Suffolk University poll found that a majority of likely voters have not seen either Vice President Kamala Harris or former President Donald Trump on podcasts.

Nearly 72% of respondents said they hadn’t seen Harris on podcasts such as “Call Her Daddy” or “All the Smoke,” while 77.5% said they hadn’t seen Trump on podcasts like “This Past Weekend with Theo Von” or “Flagrant 2.”

Harris’ campaign recently launched a media blitz, including a high-profile appearance on “Call Her Daddy,” focusing on women’s health issues, including abortion. Trump, on the other hand, has consistently sought to engage with unconventional media, appearing on podcasts like “Impaulsive” and even the far-right streamer Adin Ross’ channel.

The poll findings come just a day after Politico reported that Trump will be a guest on the popular “Joe Rogan Experience” podcast on Friday. Reuters also reported that Harris’ campaign has been in talks to appear on the same podcast.

While podcast appearances offer campaigns a way to reach potential voters who may have turned off traditional media, the poll suggests these efforts may have limited impact.

Of those who had seen Harris on a podcast:

• 51% said it made them less likely to vote for her.

• 34% said it made them more likely to vote for her.

• 13% said it made no difference.

For those who had seen Trump on a podcast:

• 49.5% said it made them more likely to vote for him.

• 28% said it made them less likely to vote for him.

• 21.5% said it made no difference.

Despite the limited reach, campaigns continue to see value in podcast appearances.
