Sean “Diddy” Combs Hit with New Wave of Lawsuits Accusing Him of Sexual Assault, Abuse
A fresh set of lawsuits has been filed against music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, alleging a disturbing pattern of sexual assault and abuse spanning decades, The Associated Press reports.
The lawsuits, filed anonymously in federal court in Manhattan to protect the identities of the accusers, include accusations of rape, sexual assault, and the molestation of a minor. This is the first time Combs has been sued by a person alleging abuse as a minor.
The six lawsuits, filed on Monday, add to a growing list of legal claims against Combs, who has vehemently denied all allegations. The accusers, identified as Jane Does and John Does, allege that Combs, utilizing his fame and influence, lured victims to lavish parties and gatherings where he would then assault them. Some claim they were drugged or physically assaulted, while others describe threats of violence and even death should they resist or speak out.
The allegations span from the mid-1990s to the present, with incidents taking place at Combs’ notorious “white parties” in the Hamptons, a party celebrating his late collaborator, Biggie Smalls, and even within the storeroom of Macy’s flagship department store in Manhattan.
One lawsuit alleges that Combs fondled a 16-year-old boy at a 1998 party, telling the boy he had “the look” of a star and ordering him to drop his pants. The lawsuit claims Combs described the act as a “rite of passage” for aspiring musicians, placing the teenager in a position of fear and power imbalance.
Another lawsuit details a 2004 incident in which a woman alleges Combs raped her in a locked hotel room after inviting her and a friend to a party, providing them with drinks and cocaine. The woman alleges that Combs also forced her friend to perform oral sex on him, threatening their lives if they didn’t comply.
Other lawsuits allege incidents of forced oral sex, drugging victims to incapacitate them, and sexual assault at a party in October 2021. One John Doe recalls being assaulted by multiple men after allegedly being drugged, distinctly remembering Combs naked above him at one point during the assault.
The plaintiffs are part of a larger group of over 100 individuals reportedly seeking legal action against Combs, following his arrest on federal sex trafficking charges in September 2022. Attorney Tony Buzbee, representing the plaintiffs, announced the planned litigation and established a hotline for potential victims to reach out.
Combs, 54, has pleaded not guilty to the federal sex trafficking charges, which involve allegations that he coerced and abused women, often with assistance from associates and employees. He allegedly silenced victims through blackmail and violence, including threats of kidnapping and arson.
Combs remains incarcerated in a Brooklyn federal jail, having been denied bail twice. He awaits trial in May.
