Casper Plans to Establish Wyoming’s First All-Wheels Park
The City of Casper is working to create Wyoming’s first all-wheels park, a unique facility designed to cater to all ages and skill levels, Wyoming News Now reports.
This initiative will make Casper the only location in the state to offer such a park, according to Austin Burgess, Executive Director of the Central Wyoming Trails Alliance.
The park is designed for anyone with a bike or similar equipment.
“It’s going to be designed for users of all ages. Anybody that has a bike could get on this particular track and ride it,” said Burgess.
What sets this all-wheels park apart is its innovative design. Unlike traditional skate parks, which feature a flat pad with added elements, this facility will have sculpted features incorporated directly into the concrete, creating a more engaging environment for riders.
Casper Parks Manager Randy Norvelle emphasized the city’s goal of creating a broader community experience, adding that the park would provide more opportunities for biking and skating enthusiasts.
“This idea came about for an area that is kind of underserved in this community,” Norvelle said.
The project has already received a $45,000 Wyoming Outdoor Recreation grant to help design the park, which will be located at Mike Sedar Park, replacing the old tennis courts.
The public is invited to share feedback on the project until October 28.
