The Supreme Court on Monday declined to hear a challenge from Republican state lawmakers in Pennsylvania to a Biden administration executive order aimed at boosting voter registration, The Associated Press reports.
The justices also dismissed two appeals stemming from baseless allegations that Dominion Voting Systems’ machines and software were responsible for Donald Trump’s 2020 presidential election results.
Republican lawmakers had argued that the order unconstitutionally interferes with the November election. However, lower courts dismissed the lawsuit, and the Supreme Court declined to overturn those rulings.
Nine Republican secretaries of state and 11 members of Congress had initially asked the court to intervene in the case, but the justices declined to take up the issue on an expedited basis in May.
Separately, the Supreme Court rejected two appeals connected to allegations against Dominion Voting Systems. One case involved an appeal from Fulton County, Pennsylvania, questioning a Pennsylvania high court ruling regarding voting machines. The other appeal came from individuals across the country who claimed Dominion attempted to silence them.
