Amazon is actively hiring thousands of workers across Southern California, with more than 3,000 seasonal positions available in the Los Angeles, Long Beach, and Anaheim areas.
The company has announced that it is looking to fill approximately 30,000 full-time, part-time, and seasonal roles throughout California.
Seasonal employees will start at a minimum pay of $18 per hour and will have access to a range of benefits from their first day on the job, including health care. The variety of available roles offers seasonal employees the chance to transition into full-time positions as well.
In addition to the competitive hourly wage, employees can expect additional benefits depending on their specific roles. These benefits may include flexible work schedules, vision and dental insurance, a 401(k) plan with company matching, and up to 20 weeks of paid pregnancy/parental leave for birth parents. There are also mental health and financial support services available to employees.
Amazon is investing $2.2 billion in increased pay for fulfillment and transportation workers, with the average total compensation rising to over $29 per hour when considering elected benefits. Seasonal employees who choose to remain with the company can see an average pay increase of 15% during their first three years.
“Each season, we look forward to welcoming back many familiar faces… The holiday season creates numerous job opportunities for individuals seeking extra income or a pathway to a career at Amazon,” company officials noted.
In total, Amazon plans to hire around 250,000 new full-time, part-time, and seasonal employees nationwide. Open roles will be posted throughout the holiday season, filling quickly, so interested candidates are encouraged to check back regularly for updates.
