Lawsuit Expected Against Sean “Diddy” Combs: 120 Allegations of Sexual Assault
A Houston lawyer, Tony Buzbee, has announced that he will be filing lawsuits on behalf of 120 individuals who have come forward with allegations of sexual assault against music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, Al Jazeera reports.
The lawsuits, expected to be filed within the next month in New York and Los Angeles, will include claims from both men and women, with 25 victims alleging they were minors at the time of the alleged misconduct.
Buzbee, who previously represented women accusing NFL quarterback Deshaun Watson of sexual assault, held a press conference on Tuesday detailing the allegations. He claims that over 3,280 people contacted his firm alleging various forms of assault by Combs, with the majority of cases stemming from parties held in New York, California, and Florida. Buzbee alleges that victims were often given drugged drinks and that Combs used his influence to coerce aspiring musicians into sexual acts.
Combs’ lawyer, Erica Wolff, has vehemently denied the allegations, calling them “meritless” and part of a “reckless media circus.” She stated that Combs categorically denies any wrongdoing and will “prove his innocence in court.”
The alleged abuse took place over an extended period and involved individuals from over 25 states. The FBI is reportedly investigating some of the claims.
This announcement comes just weeks after Combs was arrested in New York City on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Buzbee has hinted at further revelations, stating that his team is investigating “other suspects” and “cowardly complicit bystanders” who allegedly witnessed the abuse and failed to act. He promises to reveal names that will “shock” the public.
