A Tesla Cybertruck owner was left frustrated after being denied service at a Los Angeles car wash, which had a sign reading “Tesla Cybertrucks Not Allowed,” the Daily Mail reports.
Courtney Ferris, a photographer and videographer, shared her experience in a video that has since gone viral, amassing over 422,000 views.
Ferris expressed confusion about the reason for the ban, speculating that the vehicle’s size or its unconventional appearance might be to blame. Beneath the sign’s bold lettering, the car wash noted that liability concerns also played a role.
“Tesla Warranty does not cover Car Wash damage.”
The Cybertruck, with its sharp, futuristic design, has captured public attention since its release, but has also faced multiple challenges. Some commenters on Ferris’ post pointed out that many car washes refuse to service Cybertrucks due to potential damage. One user mentioned that water can harm the vehicle’s exterior if not properly dried, while others highlighted the Cybertruck’s vulnerability to malfunctions during car washes.
Tesla’s official website advises against using automatic car washes for Cybertrucks, recommending manual cleaning methods like isopropyl alcohol wipes for small stains. The vehicle also features a “Car Wash Mode” to prevent damage during cleaning, but Tesla emphasizes that damage caused by improper washing is not covered under warranty.
