Channing Tatum, Jenna Dewan Settle Divorce After Years of Legal Battles
  • PublishedSeptember 27, 2024

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan, who announced their separation in 2018, have reached a settlement to finalize their divorce, ending a six-year legal battle, The Associated Press reports.

The agreement, filed in court on Wednesday, avoids a trial scheduled for December, which would have potentially revealed personal details of their split.

The terms of the settlement remain confidential but must be approved by a judge. The couple will avoid a trial over the division of assets and custody of their 13-year-old daughter, Everly.

Tatum and Dewan, who met on the set of the 2006 dance film “Step Up” and married in 2009, have both moved on to other long-term relationships. Tatum is currently dating actor and director Zoë Kravitz, while Dewan is in a relationship with actor Steve Kazee, with whom she has two children.

The couple initially announced their separation in April 2018, stating they were “lovingly separating as a couple” but remained best friends. Dewan filed for divorce six months later. While a judge declared them divorced in 2019, disagreements over finances and custody led to a prolonged legal battle.

In recent years, both Tatum and Dewan have continued their successful careers. Tatum starred in the “Magic Mike” franchise and “21 Jump Street,” while Dewan appeared in several dance films and is now a regular on the ABC series “The Rookie.”
