Air France to Introduce Free Ultra-High-Speed Wi-Fi on All Flights by 2025
  • PublishedSeptember 26, 2024

Air France is set to revolutionize its in-flight Wi-Fi experience by offering ultra-high-speed connectivity, free of charge, across all travel classes starting in 2025.

The service, powered by Starlink, will provide passengers with a “ground-like” internet experience, allowing them to stay connected, stream content, and use multiple devices simultaneously while in the air.

Starlink, known for its extensive constellation of low Earth orbit satellites, will enable Air France to deliver fast, stable, and secure internet access globally, including in remote areas. This collaboration marks a significant upgrade from Air France’s current connectivity offerings. The new Wi-Fi service will be gradually rolled out across the airline’s entire fleet, including regional aircraft, with the transition expected to be completed over time.

Passengers will be able to access the service by logging into their Flying Blue loyalty accounts. Those without an account can create one for free during the flight. During the transition period, Air France will continue to offer its existing connectivity services, including free messaging for Flying Blue members and paid options for additional internet access.

This move places Air France alongside other airlines, such as United Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines, which have recently adopted Starlink technology to enhance their in-flight Wi-Fi services. Starlink’s low-latency technology promises to offer a seamless and reliable connection for streaming, gaming, and other online activities during flights.

Air France’s decision to integrate Starlink across its fleet marks another step toward modernizing the in-flight experience for its passengers.
