Darden Restaurants, the parent company of Olive Garden, has entered into an exclusive multi-year partnership with Uber to expand delivery services.
Announced Thursday, this agreement will allow Olive Garden to offer on-demand delivery through Uber’s network, starting later this year at select locations.
Darden’s CEO, Rick Cardenas, stated that the partnership aims to meet rising customer demand for home delivery without compromising restaurant operations. Uber Direct, Uber’s national delivery service, will handle the logistics, enabling customers to track their orders from the Olive Garden app. Full national rollout is expected by May 2025.
Olive Garden will maintain consistent pricing across dine-in, takeout, and delivery orders, with the delivery fees made transparent to customers. Uber Eats’ Head of Americas, Sarfraz Maredia, emphasized the growing consumer expectation for high-quality delivery from beloved brands like Olive Garden.
This partnership comes as Olive Garden seeks to recover from a slight dip in sales during the summer. Despite weaker-than-expected earnings, Darden remains optimistic about long-term growth.
