Catherine, Princess of Wales, has returned to her royal duties after completing her chemotherapy treatment for an unspecified form of cancer, CNN reports.

The Princess, known for her dedication to early childhood development, hosted a meeting at Windsor Castle, marking her first public engagement since revealing her health update last week.

In a personal video message released last week, Kate, 42, shared her journey through the past nine months, emphasizing the challenging nature of the treatment while expressing her hope for the future.

“I am, however, looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can,” she said.

The Princess has been a vocal advocate for early childhood development, launching the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood in 2021 and spearheading the “Shaping Us” campaign, which aims to raise awareness about the importance of the first five years of life.

While undergoing treatment, Kate remained active, working from home and engaging with her team and representatives from her early-years center. Her public appearances were limited to the King’s birthday parade in June and the Wimbledon men’s singles final in July, where she received a standing ovation.

Despite her continued focus on recovery, the Princess is expected to gradually resume a lighter schedule of public engagements throughout the rest of the year. Notably, she is expected to attend the annual Remembrance Day service at the Cenotaph in London in November, honoring those who have served in war.
