Rock legend Jon Bon Jovi has shown his humanitarian side, stepping in to help a woman in distress on a Nashville bridge, Sky News reports.
The singer, reportedly filming a music video for his band’s track “The People’s House” on the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge, witnessed a woman perched precariously on the other side of the railings.
CCTV footage released by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department shows Bon Jovi and a woman walking down the middle of the bridge on Tuesday evening. They slowly approach the distressed woman, with the singer leaning on the railings and seemingly engaging in conversation.
The woman accompanying Bon Jovi can be seen comforting the woman on the ledge, stroking her back. The pair then work together to help the woman climb back over the railings.
Bon Jovi is seen embracing the woman after she is safely back on the bridge, offering support and comfort for about a minute before they walk back down the bridge together.
The Nashville Police Department praised Bon Jovi’s actions, stating in a YouTube post that the singer helped a “distraught woman.” The incident has garnered widespread praise for Bon Jovi’s quick thinking and compassionate response.
